Job Description:

Supervises Team Members, oversees department displays, and supports leadership to ensure a smooth operation. Ensures a positive company image by providing courteous service to customers and Team Members. All positions must be performed in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods Team Members.
  • Trains Team Members to build a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
  • Assists in training of new Team Members, utilizing learning checklists and training materials.
  • Keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated.
  • Opens and closes department according to established procedures.
  • Ensures all necessary breaks are given.
  • Communicates team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader.
  • Sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution.
  • Fosters a positive environment of teamwork and exceptional morale.
  • Maintains awareness of customer flows and needs and directs Team Members to satisfy and delight customers.
  • Selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members to sustain a high-performance team.
  • Provides timely performance evaluations.
  • Consistently communicates and models WFM vision and goals.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    • Extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
    • Teaching others in a positive and constructive manner.
    • Product knowledge.
    • Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
    • Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance and managing inventory.
    • Decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.
    • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.Desired Work Experiences:
      • 12+ months retail experience.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
        • Lifts 50 pounds.
        • Standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day.
        • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
        • Bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
        • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
        • Temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
        • Wet and dry conditions.
        • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
        • Use of tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
        • May require use of ladders.
