Job Title: Surgical Tech Job Specialty: OR Tech (Operating Room) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour day shifts, Every Other Weekend (EOW), call required Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - At least 2 years of experience - Endo experience is preferred - Previous travel experience is not required - Scrubbing required Job Description: - Work in a facility with 2 OR suites and 1 endo suite. - Handle 10-20 cases per day and 20 colonoscopies per week in the endo suite. - Common cases include general surgery, ortho, GYN, endo, and pain management. - Orientation consists of 12 hours, followed by 3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation. - May float to recovery if needed; dedicated pre-op nurses are available, some cross-trained for endo. - Participate in a call team consisting of an RN and OR tech, with call divided among staff. - RNs typically take 6-8 shifts of call per month, with weekday call after 3:15 PM or at surgery end. - Weekend and holiday call is required, 24-hour call divided among staff. - Call response time is 45 minutes. - Dress code: Scrubs provided. - This role requires working in a rural hospital environment. - Charting system used is Cerner.
